Cheap Storage Locations

To find the cheapest storage locations one must be willing to look anywhere. There are a few questions that need to be answered before you start looking. These questions are, is there anything you can get rid of, how much storage space do you really need, and can you store these items in your home.

If it is determined that you cannot store items in your home the next step is to ask your friends and family. If they cannot store items for you they may have economical suggestions for you.

There may be a local place in a basement, attic, spare bedroom, barn or other area that will be free or cheap and easy to access. Put a few free adds out that your looking for storage space.

These may not be options for you. If you need long term storage you might look at building a small shed or investing in a box truck. This option would be cost effective only for long term storage needs.

If you need to decide whether or not to use this option take the cost of the storage building and divide it by the smallest monthly cost of your cheapest option. This will give you the number of months it would take to pay off your storage building. If you need storage for longer than that number of months it is more economical to build or purchase a personal storage facility.

If you are not able to purchase or build a shed you may have to look into a storage facility. Storage facilities range from 40-225 dollars a month, determined by what needs to be stored. Choosing the smallest possible unit is the best option.
